Guided Meditation – Wednesday 10:00 am

In a world of sensory overload, kids need meditation as much as adults. Meditation helps kids develop focus, regulate their own emotions and learn how to pay attention inside and out. It gives them a sense of center and, therefore, resilience. We will be learning about what meditation is and explore different types throughout the festival.

We will be listening to a guided meditation journey to help you relax, center, and focus. We’ll be laying on the ground, so you’ll probably want to bring a beach towel or blanket.

Captured Fairy Jars – Wednesday 11:00 am

We will be decorating small jars. That appear to have fairies captured inside of them!

Sun Catchers – Wednesday 1:30 pm

In celebration of the sun and the upcoming summer solstice we will be making beaded sun catcher wind chimes.

Kids Swim – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3:00 pm

Dive right in and enjoy a swim!  If you’re 6 or younger, you’ll need a parent/guardian with you at the pool.  Get some exercise, or just lounge. Remember your sunscreen and a towel! Meet at the Academy Pavilion and we’ll head down to the pool!  If we get rained out, there will be bonus crafts classes.

Movement Meditation – Thursday 10:00 am

Movement and meditation are not polar opposites, they are partners. If we apply the same mindful principles of noticing the breath, feeling the body, listening to sound and tuning into other senses, we can turn any activity into a mindful meditation. This meditation will include music from mother nature.

Mask Making – Thursday, Saturday 10:00 am

In preparation for tonight’s festivities we will be using a variety of materials to make and decorate masks.

Fused Glass Pendants (presented by: Tina Van Pelt) – Thursday 1:30 pm

We will be using a wide variety of different shapes, sizes, and colors of glass to designing one of a kind pendants! Meet at the Academy Pavilion and we’ll head to the class location together.

Mandala Meditation – Friday 10:00 am

Making a Mandala is an Active form of Meditation – when most people think of mediation they think of, sitting and thinking, or being still and NOT thinking – those are called Passive Meditation.  In Active Mediation -you embrace movement to think, feel, and reflect. We will learn about Mandalas from around the world. Then we’re going to focus on our own intentions – or wishes – and then think about these while we decorate our Mandalas.

Mantras and Meditation – Saturday 10:00 am

Mantras, if we expand our definition and view a little bit, are everywhere. And they are very powerful in every form they take. Thoughts and words can shape us. What you think, you become. We will make meditation chains to help focus on mantras and messages that encourage us to tune into our inner, authentic voice and tune out the negative and distracting messages.
